What finance certification should a beginner start with?
It depends on the career. The SIE is a useful first securities-industry exam because individuals can enroll without firm sponsorship.
Does passing SIE make me licensed?
No. FINRA states passing SIE alone does not qualify you for registration or securities business.
Can I take Series 7 without a firm?
No. Series 7 candidates must be associated with and sponsored by a FINRA/SRO member firm.
Should I start with CFP or CFA?
Only when your target career clearly aligns with financial planning or investment management and you understand the full program requirements.
Are insurance credentials part of the same path?
No. Insurance licensing and designations form a separate career track.
How many finance certifications do I need?
